Alnatura - The Connection Between People and Nature

In the organic supermarkets of the alnatura Group you will find everything that the health-conscious gourmet requires to live well – from top-quality basic foods for the larder, to easy-to-organise snacks before and after sporting activities or specialities for moments of enjoyment.alnatura All products from the alnatura brand meet the high standards of holistic organic farming and are guaranteed to have been produced with respect for human beings and nature.

The connection between people and nature is the focal point of alnatura’s business model.alnatura This is reflected in the company’s long-term partnerships with organic farmers, fair trade relations and respectful treatment of all parties involved. At the same time, alnatura is dedicated to maintaining and expanding biodiversity and to promoting climate protection.

In addition, the company consciously seeks to support small-scale and regional producers and is involved in a range of social projects. For example, it supports the development of organic agriculture in developing countries or, as with the new emil Organic Baby Food, develops baby food in line with Rudolf Steiner’s concept of social threefolding.

The quality of alnatura products is ensured through stringent, independent testing. An expert committee put every product idea to the test and checks if it is in keeping with the principles of organic farming. In addition, the product must not only be free from chemical additives and GMOs, but also meet strict environmental requirements.

All of this is backed up by transparent production and transparent supply chains. For this reason, alnatura insists on sourcing ingredients only from organic farms or that have been certified by a recognised certification body such as Bioland, Demeter or Naturland.

Since the founding of alnatura in 1984, the company has been growing steadily and now operates 107 stores in Germany. Moreover, the alnatura brand is sold in more than 200 trading partners’ shops across Europe.

In Switzerland, Migros, the largest retailer, is now cooperating with alnatura. The first test shop opened in Zurich-Hongg at the end of summer, and the collaboration is due to continue on a medium term basis.

As part of its cooperation with alnatura, the Migros group is digitising its warehouse and distribution centre at the company headquarters in Lorsch. With the help of LOGOMATE from REMIRA, a specialist in supply chain solutions for the retail sector, the warehouse is being optimized for logistics processes and stock management. This will enable the company to increase the efficiency of its supply chain, reduce out-of-stock situations and thus improve customer satisfaction.

LOGOMATE is a software solution that supports the entire process of order processing, from incoming goods to the distribution of these products in the stores. In doing so, the solution assists both warehouse and distribution centers in reducing manual processes and increasing transparency. In the future, LOGOMATE will also be used to manage the inventory of the new Migros alnatura store in Zurich-Hongg and optimize the storage capacity at the same time. This will be achieved by linking data from the order and inventory systems to a central database.
